NASA’s Perseverance Rover has boldly gone and excited Star Trek fans with a photograph of a mysterious ring-shaped rock formation on Mars. The enterprising space vehicle took a picture last week using its ‘SuperCam Remote Micro-Imager’ of a “doughnut-shaped rock off in the distance” lying on its side, according to the SETI Institute.
But since the image was beamed back to earth fans of the long-running space odyssey series have noticed a striking similarity between the rock and a famous character from the show.
