This former RAF base on the coast is home to unique Airbnbs where visitors can stay in everything from the control tower to a helicopter that served in Afghanistan.
RAF Wainfleet went out of use in 2010 and the Lincolnshire site was purchased from the Ministry of Defence by Will Roughton, a local farmer who owned the access road.
Site manager Diana Fryer said: “The helicopter came first in 2018 and the plane in 2019, we bought them from a company in Suffolk that break down aircraft.
