An animal rescue centre has said a woman wanted to have their dog put down because it barked.
Lucie’s Animal Rescue in Thirsk, North Yorkshire, said an owner wanted them to put their hound to sleep because of the noise it made.
Lucie Holmes, who runs the centre, said she was contacted by a woman asking if they could take in her two-year-old mongrel Markus.
