Here is phenomena we caught on video a couple of weeks ago. We were racing these wing airplanes with a GoPro Hero 8 set up to capture the racing. My son ran into the camera at high speed with his wing airplane… take a look at the slowmotion footage, it appears that just moments before the crash, that the tripod tried to “Get out of the way” of the crash. After reviewing the video several times, one of my friends who is more knowledgeable about modern cameras discovered that this apparent attempt to “Runaway” was caused by the cameras image stabilization ...
