A one-metre-long pet cat is often mistaken for a lion by passers-by who are shocked there’s a “wild cat” on the loose in their neighbourhood. Murphy, a Maine Coon cat, is reportedly 11kg and is 104cm long head to tail at 12 months old. Owned by Sareeta Brewin, 46, daughter Tammy Brewin, 14, and her two siblings, the family say Murphy is often mistaken for a dog by people all across Worcestershire who post photos of the cat on social media.
Murphy has a big appetite and costs a fortune to feed – getting through £60 worth of dry food every month.
