In the early hours of this morning, England’s Lionesses progressed to the semi-finals of the Women’s World Cup.
A 63rd-minute winner by England and Arsenal’s Alessia Russo secured their place in the semis alongside co-hosts Australia.
England had to come from one goal down against rivals Colombia after Leicy Santos scored in the 44th minute but the Lionesses drew level when Laura Hemp equalised just seven minutes later.
England’s victory over Colombia has sent the UK into Women’s World Cup fever.
