Szydagis’ point 3: Interstellar travel is too hard

Space travel is prohibitive even without the light speed limit.

Say we just want to send a probe to Proxima Centauri (the nearest star, let’s say 4.5 light years away) at 0.1c (one tenth of the light speed, where relativistic effects are weak, a correction of 1% in respect to Newtonian physics). The one-way trip will take about 45 years, but let’s say we are willing to wait (the probe signals will take 4.5 more years to get back to Earth).

We have also developed the ability to create and store antimatter in bulk ... Read even more
