The Largest Underwater Cave Was Just Discovered And It’s Full Of Mayan Artifacts

One of the most impressive discoveries was made recently in the Mexican city of Tulum in the Yucatan Peninsula. Inside of what appeared to be a random submerged cave they uncovered a set of subterranean caverns that became the largest underwater cave system ever discovered by humanity.Guillermo de Anda from Mexico’s National Institute of Anthropology and History stated that there are well over a hundred archeological findings in this cave system, and they all relate back to the ancient Mayan civilization. The team that made the discovery is a part of the Great Maya Aquifer Project or GAM for short. They’ve been working towards discovering more about the ancient Mayan civilization for decades now.
